This is our closest project yet to Passive House standards and when completed will acheive Net Zero consumption. It is a two story in-fill that boasts an R62 exterior wall and R110 attic insulation. This project uses duct heaters installed into the HRV ductwork to provide space heating. Duxton windows and fiberglass door are installed along with our first Passive House door from Ireland, a new product available through Duxton. The PHPP modeled heating load at -33C is just over 1800W making this house one of the most, if not the most, energy efficient building in Manitoba. This house has a Zehnder HRV which incorporates a summer bypass mode that can cool the home in the summer. The house will have a 5kW solar grid tied system to offset the minimal energy consumption and acheive Net Zero.
